Uber is currently valuated at $55B. They capitalized on the human need for certainty. In the “old days”, when you called a cab, you didn’t know where that car was or when it was going to show up. Uber knew they had something when they gave people the ability to track the status of their ride. Gold!
The need for certainty is often a desire for control.
Yet, the only thing we can really control is ourselves.
Certainty lies within. We can achieve certainty by controlling the way we respond to external events.
I am not certain about what’s going to happen tomorrow, but I am certain that I have the tools to respond in a productive way, congruently aligned with who I am.
When we become comfortable with uncertainty in our lives, we become freer because we have learned to let go of the need to control things in our outer world.
Our broadcast is always changing as we experience new things, and we make adjustments along the way to our model of the world and to what we believe.
A new perspective is always available.
